The Quincy Olivari show was in full effect Saturday night at Wintrust arena as the Xavier Musketeers sniper had a career-high 43 points in their road victory over the DePaul Blue Demons.
Through the night, Olivari shot 12/20 from the floor and was 7/12 from behind the arc helping Xavier to their 13th win of the season. He also registered 10 rebounds.
Xavier was in control of the game from the beginning jumping out to a 12-3 lead at the first media timeout then a 25-13 lead art the Under-12 Media break. Though DePaul had some moments where they would get the score within 10 points, Xavier would immediately respond with another big run of their own.
The Musketeers also got double-digit scoring games from Desmond Claude (15 points 4/11 shooting), and Dayvion McKnight (11 points, 5/8 shooting).
DePaul got a nice scoring performance from sophomore guard Jaden Henley who had 17 points and freshman big man Churchill Abass with 13 points to go along with his nine rebounds.
Xavier is now sitting at 13-10 overall, and 6-5 in Big East play. Their next game will be at home on Wednesday Feb. 7th when they host the Villanova Wildcats. 'Nova beat Xavier in Philadelphia earlier this season by just one point, Xavier looks to keep their winning ways going with another big opportunity to build their Tourney resume. Tip-Off will be at 7:30 PM EST and broadcast on FS1.
