Field of 68 Almanac Gives Xavier Multiple Big East Preseason Honors

As we get closer to the NCAA Men's Basketball season, the Preseason awards are starting to be handed out amongst all conferences.

The Field of 68 Almanac awarded sophomore guard Desmond Claude as a member of the All Big East conference second team, and senior guard Davion McKnight as the Big East Preseason newcomer of the year. McKnight was also selected as a breakout star by a panel of anonymous Big East coaches.

Xavier's staff was also selected by the same panel as the best development staff in the conference.

Claude was selected to the 2023 Big East all freshman team, and shined for the Musketeers in their big second round win in the NCAA tournament to help clinch a Sweet 16 Bid. 

McKnight transferred to Xavier from Western Kentucky where he was named All-Conference USA three consecutive seasons.
