Video: Jordan Bischel discusses 2025 Cincinnati Baseball Season

Cincinnati baseball will begin their season this Friday when they travel to Durham for a weekend season against the Duke Blue Devils.

"Excited to play Duke. Really good opponent," Bischel told media Tuesday evening. "I'm sure they're talking about things like Omaha and competing for national titles and that stuff down there which is good. We'll see where we're at right away."

In year one under Jordan Bischel, the Bearcats finished with an overall record of 32-25, while also going 17-13 in Big 12 play.

"17-13 in the Big 12 is pretty real. That's a legit record," Bischel said. "Don't lose sight of the fact it's hard to do that. Don't take for granted how difficult that was and how difficult that is to repeat."

Heading into year two, there's plenty for Bischel and Cincinnati fans to be excited about.

Cincinnati was one of just two Big 12 schools with at least three honorees on the Preseason All-Big 12 squad, the other being preseason favorite Oklahoma State.

Redshirt senior Kerrington Cross, junior Christian Mitchelle, and sophomore pitched Nathan Taylor were all named to the squad after having standout seasons during year one in the Big 12.

"Our guys feel good that the roster probably has a little more talent in depth than it did last year but just reminding them that the process of being successful doesn't change and we've got to go about it again," Bischel explained.
