Patterson is a big, strong, physical prospect who can play either outside or inside Tyson Veidt's 3-3-5 scheme. His length and athleticism show on film with his ability to make plays sideline to sideline and get in to the backfield. He finished his junior season with 70 tackles (13 for loss), four sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
